Ductless fume cabinets are low cost to install and are easily relocated to a new location.
Once a laboratory is built it is difficult to install new fume cupboards, the disruptive work of installation of ducting along with the capital cost of the equipment required and the planning consent needed, is often prohibitively expensive and time consuming. Additionally there may be no more airflow capacity in the building system.
But Bigneat has an economical solution for containing hazards such as particulates and chemical vapours. CHEMCAP® cabinets are of a ductless design incorporating carbon filters for removal of chemicals and HEPA filters for particulates. They work by purifying air drawn through the filter, removing chemicals, whether acid or base, solvents or otherwise, and returning the cleaned air back to the laboratory. So as long as the cabinet is not used for large volume extraction, a recirculatory filtration fume cabinet will be perfect for the job.
Additionally these cabinets have the major advantage that they can be supplied with a mobile trolley and located at the exact location where the laboratory procedure needs to be undertaken releasing fume cabinet space.
